Community Involvement
In an effort to improve outreach efforts to small businesses, especially those located in low to moderate income communities, Vineyard Bank has developed the Community Enterprise Loan Program. This program, developed in cooperation with Pacific Coast Regional, Small Business Development Corporation (PCR), combines modified underwriting standards with the State of California Loan Guarantee Program and the Technical Assistance and Counseling Programs offered by PCR, provides entrepreneurs access to funds, training and support while they develop and expand their businesses.
Additionally, the Bank partnered with Neighborhood Partnership Housing Services (NPHS) to develop the Vineyard Family Fund. The Vineyard Family Fund is an innovative down payment assistance loan program that assists low-to -moderate income individuals with attaining the goal of becoming first-time homebuyers by providing a low cost second trust deed loan. This program has enabled several families to purchase a home that they otherwise would not have been able to. NPHS also provides homebuyer education, home retention (foreclosure avoidance) counseling, and financial assistance.
Vineyard Bank and its employees participate in both the Junior Achievement Program and Operation Hope - Banking on our Future Program by volunteering their time and resources to provide financial education in the classrooms of the communities it serves. Vineyard Bank also has instructors that are available to conduct on-site financial education sessions for other community groups and organizations. Financial support and technical assistance is also provided to several non profit organizations that provide affordable housing counseling and financial assistance to low- to -moderate income families and families in crisis.
Vineyard Bank has provided grants, computers, equipment, furniture and event tickets to several youth focused programs including child care/summer camp programs, boys and girls clubs, charter schools, and faith based community development organizations. The intent is to improve "today" for the children in underserved communities while creating a better "tomorrow."
